As per the details available with Early Times, the Sarpanch Panchayat Mohri Mohammad Ali was caught on tape while addressing the public gathering at Tehsil Headquarter Bhunzwah in which the Sarpanch when confronted by the people over the growing corruption through PRIs, the Sarpanch who had also lead the prayers at Jammu mosque beside use to address the religious congregations was seen openly defending the prevailing corruption in the RDD department through Sarpanches who were alleged by the people of taking the commission share from the RDD department. Sarpanch while endorsing the corruption termed the said practice as an old one added that since the Panchayats came into existence there was a corruption and it is in place today will continue in future as well. Open endorsement of the corruption by the elected Sarpanch had not only shocked the people, but also the officials who were present during the Block Dewas program. After the admission by the Sarpanch, the people demanded for high level probe into the allegations of corruption levelled against the PRI so that all those PRIs who promote and indulge in corruption could be taken to task. It is pertinent to mention that on the directions of LG Manoj Kumar Senha, 3 senior KAS officer were placed under suspension for their alleged involvement in corruption and it is to be seen wether the LG Administration will act against the allegations of mass scale corruption by the PRIs who had been given drawing and disbursing power by the government as a part of strengthening the Panchayat Raj Institutions. |
