| Forest department foils bid to encroach forest land at Kalakote | | |  Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Feb 4: The forest department has foiled a bid of some people to encroach the forest land in the Kalakote range of this district in the Jammu division.
In a night operation carried out in Kalakote range of Rajouri Forest Division an attempt to encroach forest land was foiled by forest staff in compartment 123/K. Information was received late night by Divisional Forest Officer Rajouri Dr. Arshdeep Singh that some persons are engaging JCB machine at Broh village of Kalakote and a team of forest officials was pressed into action.
The team under the supervision of Block Officer Kalakote Nissar Hussain and Block Officer Sial Sui Mehboob Ahmed conducted a night raid and seized one JCB machine found in forest land cutting. The JCB machine was immediately seized and brought to Forest Complex Kalakote for safe custody. The entire operation was monitored by Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri B. Mohan Daas, from headquarter. The Divisional Forest Officer Rajouri has initiated proceedings for confiscation under Indian Forest Act, 1929 and instructions have been passed to act strictly against encroachers. |
