Accused of corruption, NC leader goes into ‘hibernation’!
2/4/2021 11:50:52 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 4: Accused of alleged corruption, a senior leader of the National Conference has gone into alleged “hibernation”.
Sources said a senior leader of the NC has come under scanner for “numerous complaints of corruption and alleged misuse of power when he was a minister.”
Sources said the NC leader is in a “state of shock” by getting to know that his “deals” have come under the scanner and is trying his best to get himself out of the situation.
Sources said the said leader has come under scanner for property disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Sources said he is also under scanner for “real estate deals” abroad.
The sources said the said leader has some property abroad that he uses it to run business. Sources said despite repeated reminders, this leader from north Kashmir, has not been attending the NC meetings or rallies. Sources said a formal show cause notice was likely to be served to the said leader for his absence. “Why should he take politics hostage for his personal involvements in cases of corruption?” asked a politician privy to the issue. Sources said it has been over a year that the said politician has not been attending any of the meetings of the NC held at the Nawa e Subh party headquarters in Srinagar.
Sources said the politician has even changed his phone number to stay away from his party colleagues.
It is pertinent to mention that some of the senior leaders of the National Conference have already come under scanner for allegations of corruption.
The immovable property of former Chief Minister and National Conference, patron, Dr Farooq Abdullah has already been attached by the National Investigation Agency in connection with the multi-crore cricket association scam.
Another senior leader, Abdul Rahim Rather and his son, Hilal Rather have also been facing cases of corruption.
Despite repeated attempts the said leader was not available for comments.
