PM, HM’s silence on permanent resettlement of KPs shocking: KPC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah dashed the high hopes of exiled Kashmiri Pandits by staying mum on the core issue of their permanent resettled/ rehabilitation in the Valley. The present rehabilitation policy meant for displaced KPs is entirely deceitful and fraud stated by KPC in a meeting today at New Delhi. The Home Minister of India in his recent speech in parliament only talked about six thousand jobs to displaced Kashmiri youths along with the government accommodation for them which were already announced by the previous UPA government in 2008 and almost two thousand seven hundred jobs were already given them under the PM package employment scheme for their survival and sustenance by 2014. KPC president Kundan Kashmiri said that it is unfortunate that Prime Minister and Home Minister of India are silent over the temples and shrines bill to take them under law for maintenance, promotion and protection. Nothing has been talked about their land and property taken under distress sales, encroachments and through faulty laws. KPC President stated that return of KPs to the valley is a very sensitive issue which needs to be dealt with sensitively and only one place rehabilitation under the complete writ of Indian constitution as this displaced KP community wants to live in Kashmir valley as Indian, die as Indian, but together at one place as a community as a true Indian nationalist to serve and contribute for our nation which is only viable and acceptable to them. Expressing hope that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and LG Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha will consider all genuine demands and issues very seriously. We pray Prime Minister and Home Minister of India to have a meeting with the KP community and with its leadership to discuss their grave problems, difficulties and long pending demands and to redress them at the earliest. |
