| Citizen Forum welcomes statement of Home Minister | | |

Jammu, Feb 14: Citizen's Forum has welcomed the assurance by Home Minister Amit Shah that the center will grant full statehood to the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir at an appropriate time. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already promised to give UT a statehood.
The statehood will bring back the sagging morale of the people of J&K who are feeling cheated by downgrading the status of citizen's of a large State bringing equal to a match box size union Territory.
R K Chadha, president Citizen's Forum requested the Prime Minister to see that the Elections to the J&K should be conducted after the grant of statehood to the Union Territory only.
The development of the state during these times is giving a ray of hope that J&K is on the top priority of the center government and if elections are conducted we fear the arrival of same old era of personal development of the elected and other party leaders and particularly discrimination of Jammu region already faced previously. “We want Statehood of J&K first and then Elections after completing the Center's development programs for this entire J&K area in total and completed”, the forum has said. |
