Jammu, June 19: In view of the programme ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ launched by Prime Minister of India Shri Narendera Modi on 31 October 2015 on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, NSS Unit of Govt Degree College Ramnagar collaborates with the NSS unit of Sree Ayappa College for Women, Chunkadkadai, Tamil Nadu. The programme aimes to strengthen the social fabric of India by enhancing interaction between the people of different culture and traditions living in different states and Union Territories of India. NSS Unit of GDC Ramnagar took keen interest in the programme and planned to conduct various activities through partnering with NSS unit of Sree Ayappa College of Women Chunkadkadai to exchange not only culture and traditions but also to exchange knowledge and bonding between two regions of different topography. The inaugural function started with the welcome address by Dr Sreeya G. Nair, NSS PO SAC, Chunkadkadai, Tamil Nadu. After that inaugural address was delivered by Dr Udhey Bhanu, Principal GDC Ramnagar and presidential address by Dr KV Jayshree, Principal SAC, Chunkadkadai. Dr A Rajarathinam, NSS coordinator MSU, Tirunelveli, Guest of Honor presented the special address. The programme was felicitated by Dr V R Anjana, HOD Zoology, SAC, Chunkadkadai and Prof Suresh Kumar Dogra, HOD Physics, GDC Ramnagar. Then the programme Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat was elaborated by Prof Ritika Mahajan, NSS PO GDC Ramnagar in wihch both colleges presented power point presentations of folk songs, dances, historical places and NSS activities performed in respective colleges.
