UDHAMPUR, June 19: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib conducted a surprise inspection in the Udhampur town late night here to take stock of implementation of weekend COVID-19 lockdown measures in the district.
During the extensive inspection, the DC found eight shops violating the SOPs in Shiv Nagar, Devika, Omara Morh, T-Morh, Sallan Talab, Mukerjee Bazaar, Bus stand, Gole Market, Chabutra Bazaar, Birma area and ordered to seal them. These shops were found open in the late night hours in violation of the timings of Covid SOPs.
The DDMA Udhampur has advised the public as well as shopkeepers to strictly adhere to the SOPs and follow Covid appropriate behavior like wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing, and washing hands regularly.
The DC reiterated that any violation of Government directives will lead to penal action and such surprise visits will continue to ensure discipline in larger public interest. |
