Early Times Report
Jammu, June 19: The Jammu and Kashmir administration seems to have been facing an uphill task in getting the people vaccinated against COVID-19 with new measures like stopping of ration and salaries of those refusing to receive jabs being taken. Reports coming to the fore inform that in Jammu’s Reasi, a few days ago, the administration has decided not to provide the benefit of ration and banking facility to those who refuse to get inoculated. The orders passed in this regard inform that the government ration and banking facility available to the people who do not get the jabs will be stopped. Similarly, in Kathua, it has now been made mandatory for the employees to get the vaccination done before June 30, or else their salaries in toto will be stopped. Instructions in this regard have been issued to the DDO. According to the order, the salary of only those employees who have been vaccinated will be released. While presenting the salary bills in the Treasury, the DDO will also have to give a certificate that the salary is being released to only those people who have been vaccinated. The Treasury has also been directed that only bills bearing certificates should be approved. As per the reports, nine districts viz. Bandipora, Ganderbal, Shopian, Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Reasi, Udhampur, Kishtwar in the UT are in Green Category where the epidemic is being controlled through measures with limited and localized disruption to social and economic life.
