GDC Sidhra organizes online poetry competition

JAMMU, Aug 11: Literary Club of Government Degree College Sidhra on the Eve of 75th Independence Day organised an Online Inter-House Poetry Competition on the theme "Atam Nirbhar Bharat" under the patronage of worthy Principal, Dr. Monika Sharma.
A number of students from different houses of the college participated in the activity. The participants were judged by Prof. Shashi Prabha, Associate Professor, Department of English and Dr.Mehmood Ahmed, Head Department of Urdu of the College. The result of the activity was declared on 11th of August 2021 in which Irshad Akhter of B.A Sem II from Integrity house attained first position, and Shafeeq ul Rehman of B.A Sem IV from challenge house got second position, Karsoom Akhter and Imran Bajard both from Integrity house of B.A II semester, shared third position.
Participants tried their best to recite poem on the above mentioned theme of different authors/ poets/ writers. The Poem's main theme was Atam Nirbhar Bharat.
The event was organized by Prof. Meesha Bhagat, Convener, Literary Club of the college, Dept. of political Science and coordinated by Prof. Mehmood Ahmed and Prof. Satbir Kour, members of Literary Club of the college.
