Security beefed up in border belts | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 22: Ahead of Republic Day, Jammu and Kashmir's Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh on Saturday called for enhanced security grid in the bordering belts and night patrol on national highways. "Lay joint checkpoints on all possible infiltration routes and also on the roads originating from the border and intensify night patrolling on national highways," he said while chairing a meeting to review security arrangements for the Republic Day. He reviewed the arrangements made in and around the Maulana Azad Stadium -- the venue for the Republic Day celebrations. Singh stressed on proper and intensive foot patrolling and surveillance of the areas in and around the venue. Any input related to infiltration by terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir must be disseminated with all concerned on real time basis, he stressed. |
