Govt claims of education sector a priority confined to papers only | > Of 6 teachers only 2 present at Middle School Dharwali Bhawadi | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Jan 22: Middle School Dharwali Bhawadi in Rajouri is a glaring example of how the children of far-flung areas are being deprived of education. A reporter of a local news channel who visited the school on Saturday found only two out of six teachers present in the school. “Two teachers are on leave and two are on a Covid duty. Two of us are here,” a teacher present in the school told the reporter. It’s in place to mention here that exams of the students in the Jammu region are slated to be held next month. In absence of online classes students are sitting idle and have nothing to do. An observer said, “The tall claims of the government that the education sector is a priority are nothing but a hoax. On the ground there are no teachers in schools and no online education is being provided to the students.” He said, “The government seems unaware about the ground situation. Lot needs to be done to put the education system on rails.” |
