Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 9: A soldier of the J&K Light Infantry (JAKLI) regiment on leave has gone missing since Monday evening in Kashmir, official sources said on Wednesday. The family of missing soldier Sameer Ahmad Malla of Khag area in central Kashmir's Budgam district have sought help from the authorities to trace him. “Sameer is posted in Jammu and was on leave since February 19 and on Monday evening he left for Khag and since there is no news about him. His phone is also switched off,” said a family member, adding his wife gave birth to a baby just a week ago. Meanwhile, the Police and Army are tightlipped about the missing soldier. Defence sources, however, said the Malla was absent without leave. |
