| ‘Job card holders don’t get payments, dead people get’ | | RDD employee spills beans | | Early Times Report
Doda (Marmat), Mar 9: An employee of Rural Development Department has spilled the beans about the corruption prevalent in the system. GRS, Tanveer Ahmed, while talking to a local news channel said, “It’s unfortunate but true that job card holders who do the work don’t get the payment, but the payments are released for the works that are not done on the ground.” Ahmed alleged, “The payment is even transferred into the accounts of dead people.” He said that he is being harassed for raising his voice against the “corrupt system” and his salary has been withheld for the past one and a half year.
“My higher ups are telling me to sign on the works which have not taken place under my supervision,” he said. Ahmed said that he had met the Assistant Commissioner Development and had apprised him about all the issues. “The ACD had written to the Block Development Officer (BDO) but he didn’t respond.” The GRS said that the department had spread fake news by circulating videos to intimidate him. “I am not going to budge and have decided to fight it tooth and nail,” he added. |
