Only 46 cases sanctioned under PMAY in Nowgam | Deserving beneficiaries dropped, officers not listening to us, say Panchs, Sarpanchs | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 9: Panchs and Sarpanchs from Nowgam, Sonawari area in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district assembled at Press Enclave here on Wednesday and staged a protest against the administration. Talking to reporters they said that the cases of 109 beneficiaries were finalized under Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana Scheme (PMAY) in their area but in the final allocation list only 46 cases have been allocated. “Our areas comprise 20,000 souls. The PMAY list has been curtailed for the reasons best known to the helmsmen. We met the top officials of the district but no one heard us,” they said. “We urge Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and direct the concerned officials to include deserving people in the list,” they added. |
