| Gazetted officer evacuated forcibly from Govt accommodation | | | early times report
Rajouri, Sept 24: The presence of magistrate, police and after the directions from Deputy Commissioner FC Bhagat notwithstanding, the household items of a gazeted officer identified as Sandeep Sharma , assistant director planning were thrown out from his government quarter in highly protected DC colony today.
FC Bhagat ,DDC said the said officer was in illegal possession of the quarter, which was not sanctioned to him by the authorities.
However, Sandeep Sharma claimed that he had shared the quarter with a sectional officer who was later transferred in February this year and since then he was staying in the quarter along with his wife and two children and was paying the rent for which he has departmental receipts.
He further added that after some notices from the DDC office he had approached the High Court and sought the directions in his favor.
"Despite that the DDC ordered the evacuation of quarter forcibly and our household items were taken out by the officials in my absence" said Sandeep Sharma.
He also alleged that some jewelry of his wife and Rs2 lakh cash went missing during evacuation in his absence as he was told to bring the laborers to shift his household items to other place.
FC Bhagat said that the said officer was living in the quarter which was not allotted in his favour, He was told several times to vacate the quarter as it was allotted in favour of AC Defence.
Despite several remainders the officer did not approach us. "Had he approached us in good faith an alternative arrangement would have been made in his favor" said DDC.
He further added that after the directions from the court that after due course of action quarter can be vacated from the said officer, he was given 3-4 days time but he did not respond .
On the other hand Sandeep Sharma alleged that after the notice he approached the Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) and also along with his Sectional Engineer (SE) met with DDC .
Both the officers assured me about alternative arrangement and since my meeting I was waiting for their response.
"But instead providing me a accommodation they started sending me notices to evacuate the quarter and today forcibly my house hold items were.
He further added that magistrate on spot (tehsildar) called him to open the locks. "I told the tehsildar after opening the locks that some cash (Rs 2 lakh)and jewelry of my wife is lying in the bed in a room as they have no lockers available. I was assured by him that all the household items would be kept in that room which would be available to me" Said Sandeep.
He alleged that all the households items were taken out in his absence including bed carrying cash and jewelry when I went to bring the labourers. .
"The missing of cash and jewelry is baseless allegation as the officer was several times informed to vacate the quarter" said DDC.
At the time of filing this report the said officer has hired a private accommodation and was shifting his households.
He further said : " The quarter was vacated under pressure from Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad as the quarter was allotted to one of his blue eye person identified as Nissar Ahmed, district youth co-coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra presently posted at Udhampur and having additional charge of Rajouri district.
"Nissar is a central government employee and is not entitled for accommodation from state quota. Moreover he is posted at Udhampur . I am also a gazetted officer in PWD (R&B) and lot of work load. My wife is a teacher and my two children were in the school when all this happened with me" said Sharma. |
