'Congress party disappointed us' | Kamaal calls Taj an intruder | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, May 10: National Conference today said that it was disappointed over the admission of some Congress leaders that its party workers indulged in cross voting in the recently concluded Parliamentary elections for in Kashmir. Additional General Secretary National Conference Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal told that NC will think hundred times in future before forging any kind of alliance with the Congress party. "It was shocking to listen from a Minister like Taj Mohi-ud-Din that some of the Congress workers voted for PDP candidate Muzaffar Hussain Beigh. Our workers voted for Congress in Jammu but what they did in Kashmir was astounding and it shocked us all. We will definitely raise this matter with the Congress High Command," Kamaal said adding that the party was surprised after the news report appeared that even Congress MLC Muzafar Parrey did not cast his vote. "Leave his family aside, at least Parrey should have voted. State Congress president Professor Saif-ud-Din Soz went to more restive place like Baramulla to cast his vote, but alas, Muzafar Parrey did not bother to vote amid thick security cover," he said. He said that it is a wrong notion that there was any kind of alliance between National Conference and Congress party. "It was a seat sharing agreement just to keep People's Democratic Party away from grabbing power. We are waiting for the results and only after that our party will chalk out a strategy and take future course of action," he said. National Conference legislator Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal told that Mohammad Shafi Uri is right and it is a fact that Taj Mohi-ud-Din failed to convince his own workers to vote for the coalition candidate. "Taj is an intruder. He is not a resident of Uri so he has no base there. Taj Mohi-ud-Din is from Kathua and due to his failures, people in Uri don't support him while, Shafi Uri being the native of Uri has a mass appeal," Kamaal said adding that Congress party in Kashmir breeched the commitment that it had made with the National Conference |
