How can BJP achieve Mission 44+? | In view of allegations of ticket sale, filing of nominations by party leaders as independents, target seems unachievable | | Bivek Mathur Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 9: The state BJP, which is riding more on Modi wave rather than its work on ground level, is unlikely to achieve its Mission 44+ in view of the allegations of sale of tickets to influential candidates and filing of nominations by some party leaders as independent candidates. BJP workers of Billawar constituency have warned to sit on fast unto death if mandate is given to an outsider. Supporting the candidature of Narayan Dutt Tripathi, they today assembled at Nagrota in Billawar and appealed to the party high command to declare a local candidate for Billawar assembly seat and warned that if it was not done, they would be forced to sit on dharna. Meanwhile, a deputation of BJP workers from Billawar met party president and MP Jugal Kishore and MP Avinash Rai Khanna here and apprised them of their demand. As per sources, they appealed them for declaring a local candidate from Billawar. They said that already party had done injustice with some dedicated candidates by announcing mandates in favour of influential candidates but the same would not be accepted so far as Billawar constituency is concerned. They also expressed their anger against reports that party is thinking of giving mandate to a candidate from outside the constituency who even did not know 20 pc of the voters. Sources said that Jugal parried their queries by putting the ball in the court of BJP Parliamentary board, saying only it was entitled to take any decision in this context. |
