Does BJP consider Kathua as part of Punjab? | | | Early Times Report kathua, Nov 21: Going by the inaction of the state unit of the BJP in handling the crisis in Kathua BJP and the proactive approach of the leaders of Punjab BJP, it seems that the saffron party considers Kathua Assembly constituency as part of the neighbouring state of Punjab. Since the state BJP has so far failed to address the rebellion and did not deem it fit to open a channel of communication with the dissident group on its own, the party high command deputed several senior leaders from Punjab BJP who took charge of pacifying the dissident group of leaders from Kathua for the last two days but without reaping any fruitful dividends. "If the state leadership is serious to resolve the tangle then why isn't it taking initiative and sending leaders from Punjab for negotiations…Not coming forward reflects the political bankruptcy of the state unit…The crisis should be addressed by the state leadership," said a leader of dissident group. Meanwhile, the resentment among the BJP workers from Kathua constituency against the state leadership comes out in the open later in the day when scores of party workers hit streets of Kathua and raised anti-BJP and anti-Dr Jitendra Singh slogans. While raising slogans against Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office Dr Jitendra Singh, the angry workers shouted, "Where is our MP Dr Jitendra Singh." One of the protesters said, "He (Dr Jitendra) only has time for Jammu… He came for Swacch Bharat Abhiyan and picked broom in Jammu and visited border areas of Jammu only when firing from across the order was also on in several areas of Kathua district." |
