JKPS remembers Lala Lajpat Rai on his 150th birth anniversary | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 28: JK Public School Kunjwani today in special assembly remembers the great son of Indian soil, Lala Lajpat Rai, on his 150th birth anniversary. According to press release, the students were told about the contributions of this lion of the soil in the struggle for India's Independence. Lala Lajpat Rai had led the protests against The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and the Non Co-operation Movements. He was arrested several times. He has been described as a pillar of extremist nationalism in India. When the Simon Commission came to India, he led a peaceful protest which was lathicharged brutally. He was badly wounded. He died due to the injuries caused. His death led to a great disturbance in the country and it inspired the national struggle for freedom. His words,'Every bloe made upon me will act like a nail in the coffin of the British Empire' proved prophetic as they paved the way for India's Independence. |
