JKPSCWA holds meet, discusses long pending issues | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 28: The state executive committee of JK Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Association (JKPSCWA) was held at Local Guest House Jammu. The meeting was chaired by Sampat Parkash the State President of the Association. Members of the association held debate on several long pending issues including release of two D.A. installments amounting to 17% in favour of 2.94 lacl pensioners of the state, application of Medicare scheme on central pattern which has not been adopted by the previous coalition government till date, senior citizen act passed by the legislative assembly on 27th August 2014 by the voice vote, doesn't describe the legitimate rights of the senior citizen as per central government Act passed 2007 and enforced in 2011, needs to be reviewed and further deliberation for enforcement of the Act for the welfare of the senior citizen. B.D. Verma Secretary, Jammu region highlighted the issue of increase in pension after crossing the age of 80 years and above @ of 80%, 90% and 100%. This benefit is being enjoyed by all over the country except J&K thus the present government should take up this matter seriously to benefit the old and ailing pensioners.
