Kitchloo's assets show decline, Azad's double in 9 months Movable assets of RS candidates register increase 2/1/2015 12:01:17 AM Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 31: Former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha candidate, Ghulam Nabi Azad's movable assets have doubled during the last nine months. Azad declared his assets (personal) which are valued at Rs 1 Crore. In a sworn affidavit solicited by him, the immovable assets owned by him are worth Rs 75 lakh. In the sworn-statement for Lok Sabha elections held in May last year the assets were shown as worth Rs 70 lakh. Azad had declared personal assets worth about Rs 58 lakh and that of his wife Shamima Azad worth Rs 1.5 crore and daughter Rs 16 lakh. The `best ever health minister' of India has declared total movable assets, together with wife and daughter, worth Rs 2.63 crore. Azad also owns around 20 kanals of agriculture land in Maharashtra. His wife, whose profession is 'social service' as per the affidavit, has immovable property worth Rs 1.22 crore. The returns filed by him in 2102-13 show his total income at Rs 8.9 lakh in 2013-14. His wife's and daughter's income was Rs 7.35 lakh and Rs 1.18 lakh respectively. In 2009, Azad had declared movable assets worth about Rs 20 lakh (cash in hand Rs 15000), deposit in banks and other financial institutions Rs 16.8 lakh (SBI), Rs 3.13 lakh (JKB). National Conference leaders Nasir Aslam Wani and Sajad Ahmad Kitchloo also declared their movable assets. Aslam and his wife own about Rs 23 lakh, his wife has Rs 35.6 lakh respectively and their and two dependents together have property valued Rs 9.52 lakh. Aslam, who as per income tax returns has total income of Rs 4.48 lakh for 2013-14, also possesses immovable assets worth Rs 5.22 crore. Wani, a graduate in Commerce, has shown personal liabilities in the form of loan for Rs 37.5 lakh and that of his wife Rs 12.15 lakh. Sajjad Kichloo, another NC candidate for Rajya Sabha election has movable assets worth Rs 71 lakh, wife Rs 32.37 lakh and that of dependent valued Rs 12098. The assets have registered a decline since assembly elections. In Assembly polls, the movable assets declared by him were Rs 8593765, wife Rs 3498653 and dependent Rs 7964. A 12-class pass out, Kichloo's income as per IT returns was Rs 1285917 for 2013-14. Another PDP Rajya Sabha candidate, Nazir Ahmad Laway, has managed to increase his assets by one lakh since assembly elections. The assets shown then were worth 9 lakhs.
