KATRA, Feb 6: Tall claims of the Government to provide railway facilities to the Yatries as well as the locals who wish to visit Katra fall flat as the railway department sans spare trains to run on the place of the DMU trains that were running in the past. Reliable Sources told Early Times that the lessening of the Trains to Katra have become a point of discussion again as various locals as well as the Yatries have suffered due to this decrease in Trains. Sources again said that the office bearers from Katra and posted in Jammu as well as Students studying in Jammu who used to Travel by the early DMU (Local Train) that was Scheduled to leave Katra at 7:30 am in Morning and leave back to Katra from Jammu at 5:30 pm have suffered a major problem by this reduction of train. "The same travelers had to travel by bus now in order to go to the duty and classes which is somewhat expensive ", said the sources. Sources also said that earlier after the completion of the railway station, the pilgrims travelling from all over the country are facing the problem as the railway authorities discontinued some long distance trains from the other cities as well as the Kalka-Katra train that was announced in the September is still awaited. Sources further claimed that the railways had also operated a special premium train service from Mumbai and Ahmedabad direct to the pilgrim town as a big motivation for devotees planning a trip to the Vaishno Devi shrine, but it got discontinued. Sources also said that the DMU running in the early morning was the same train which met with an Accident last month but around month passed but the people are still awaiting for the train to run. DRM Jammu Railway station Ram Meena when contacted said that the matter is already discussed with the higher authorities to get solved. He added, "we do not have any spare train to run as substitute to serve the public" and "the higher authorities will soon sort out the problem and will find a solution for the said problem soon", he further added. |
