Fearing defeat, Azad indulges in blame game | | |
Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 6: Fearing that he may end up on the losing side veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad today accused BJP of using IPS officers to intimidate MLAs to vote for BJP candidates in the Rajya Sabha polls, slated to be held on Saturday. May be Azad's concern could be genuine but someone needs to ask him when National Conference and Congress were ruling Jammu and Kashmir many instances of both the parties indulging in alleged horse trading and using official machinery for their own personal benefits came to fore but he never uttered a word. "When Azad was the union minister he used to pass the instructions to officials himself and today he is being made to taste his own medicine," said an analyst. He said had Azad opposed the horse trading and misuse of the official machinery when his party and NC were in power his allegations could have been taken seriously. "It seems he has sensed defeat and now he is trying to shift the blame on others," the analyst added. |
