Rajouri, Feb 6: Chowdhry Qamar Hussain, MLA, Rajouri has demanded Hill Development Council for Rajouri and Central University status for Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) besides release of funds for the developmental works which are going on snail pace for the last many months/years.MLA Rajouri Ch Qamar Hussain who today met N N Vohara, Governor of State highlighted these demands while submitting a 16 Point Resolution related to problems, issues of public importance.He apprised the Governor that since September month's floods all the developmental works including damage to infrastructure during natural calamity in the district and especially in Rajouri constituency came to standstill and require immediate release of additional funds. He also apprised the Governor about the bad conditions of main/link roads especially Rajouri-Thanamandi road and demanded immediate attention towards these roads by the concerned authorities.Besides raising the demand of to consider Hill Development Council for Rajouri-Poonch, he also urged Governor to visit BGSB University to take stock of its functioning and also demanded Central University status for it.
Other important demands highlighted y MLA Rajouri included expediting the work on mini-secretariat, tehsil status for Dungi,Dodasan, Behrot, special recruitment drive for police, removal of ban on inter district recruitment, sanction of mobile schools and micro-hydel power project and etc.Among others who accompanied MLA during his meeting with Governor of State included Advocate Ahsan Mirza, Advocate Khaliq Firdous and Israr Choudhry. |
