NPP gheraos DTM office Northern Railways 2/6/2015 11:42:31 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, Feb 6 : Panthers Party activists including youth and students led by Balwant Singh Mankotia Ex-MLA State President NPP today gheraoed DTM Northern Railways (Jammu Tawi) Office demanding restoration of Katra-Pathankot via Jammu-Udhampur DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit). The services of DMU were discontinued from January, 3, 2015 due to some technical reasons which has been causing grave inconvenience to the general commuters including the employees, students, and the common people. NPP earlier had given two days ultimatum on 2nd Feb. 2015 to the DTM to restore the services of the DMU but nothing had been realized on the ground so far. Balwant Singh Mankotia disclosed to the media that there was a spare DMU at the Ferozpur Headquarters ( Northern Railway)but it was sent to Kashmir last week as a 'standby' to a currently functional railway service. He added that the DMU has been lying idle in Kashmir and the people of Udhampur District are suffering and facing grave inconvenience and discomfort during their routine commutation. The activists raising slogans against the Ministry of Railways and DTM Jammu Tawi ghearoed Ashwani Kumar, Station Manager, Railway Station, Jammu Tawi in the non-availability of the DTM Jammu R. N.
