Jammu, Feb 6 Meeting of ASHA Workers union, Block Bishnah, District Jammu held today under the chairmanship of Anita Devi in the complex of Community Health Centre Bishnah. Speaking on the occasion Sham Prasad Kesar senior leader of CITU demanded that ASHA workers be regularized as Health workers, paid Rs. 15000 per month, get social security like pension, gratuity, maternity benefits etc. Allocate funds at least 5% of the GDP, all incentives be paid on time, they should be given two uniforms, ID cards, bus passes, be promoted ANMs after training. They should be covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojna & Rashtriya Swastha Bima Yojna. While speaking Sunita Bhagat demanded rest rooms for ASHAs and 10 % reservation in Nursing colleges, Facilitators/ Cordinators be recruited only from existing ASHAs. Immediate implementation of the Januay 2014 order of Govt. of India for monthly payment of Rs. 1000/= as monthly assured incentive. Union decided to hand over the memorandum to J P Nadda Minister for Health and family Welfare, Govt. of India through Director concern on 16 February 2015 and participate in the March to Parliament on 2nd march 2015 to focus their demands. |
