Community College opened at BGSBU 2/13/2015 11:51:19 PM Early Times Report Rajouri, Feb 13: Baba Ghualm Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has become the only university in the State where University Grant Commission (UGC) has opened a Community College. The main aim behind opening Community Colleges at various Universities in the country was to train the youth in order to get self employment. Funded by UGC Community College was made functional in the BGSBU with the personnel efforts of Prof IA Hamal, VC and 39 students have been enrolled in the first batch with whom VC interacted today. The College was made operational in the department of Management Studies and Mohd Rashid Choudhry, Registrar was made the principal. While expressing pleasure over opening of Community College VC, appealed to the local residents to come and undergo vocational training for initiating entrepreneurship. "This programme will help a long way ahead to the people and students above class 12th. as it will promote job-oriented, work related, skill-based and life-coping education including education for a livelihood" said Prof Hamal.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
