PDP, BJP enacting drama to hoodwink people: Congress | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 9: Senior Congress leader and former general secretary of Pradesh Youth Congress Kapil Singh on Monday said the drama enacted by the PDP and the BJP over release of top separatist leader Masarat Alam was a match fixing between two ideologically different parties to hoodwink the people of the state. In a statement issued here, the Congress leader said the BJP had always followed a pro-militant approach and this is not for the first time that they have released any separatist leader and militants. "It is a match fixing between the PDP and the BJP to befool the masses. Firstly, the PDP released the separatist leader Masarat Alam from a Baramulla jail after a gap of more than four years and on the very second day, the same government allowed the VHP leader Praveen Togadia to address a convention. Togadia, who was wanted in FIR number 98/2012, was allowed to address a gathering instead of arresting him," Singh said while substantiating his claims. He said it was the BJP-led NDA government in the Centre when Khandhar plan hijack incident was taken place in December 1999 and it had released dreaded terrorists. "And whenever it (BJP) remained in opposition, it always tried to divide the people on communal lines. The party stands exposed and it needs to apologies the people of the state and the country for hurting their sentiments," he said. The Congress said the people would not forgive them for their anti-national activities. |
