The aggrieved staff informed the media persons that instead of listening to doctors and other staff members, Health Minister became aggressive and started cursing the doctors and used language unbecoming of a Minister. Later in the afternoon, Dr. Rafiq Pampori, Principal Government Medical College Srinagar submitted his resignation minutes after Lal Singh snubbed him publicly and blamed him for "pollution, indiscipline, absenteeism, poor services" and shouted that it could be no more tolerated. The sources said that Dr. Rafiq while tendering his resignation termed the behavior of Lal Singh as unfortunate and not a healthy sign for dignity of the medical fraternity. Despite repeated attempts, Singh could not be reached for his comments on the issue. Meanwhile the doctors in Kashmir have threatened agitation if Lal Singh did not apologise for his misbehaviour with the doctors. |
