Jammu, Mar 9: Enraged over the release of Hurriyat hardliner Masrat Alam, several political and non- political organizations held a series of protest demonstrations against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) coalititon government in different parts of Jammu region.
National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) on the call of NPSU and other Students Organizations observed complete bandh against the 'anti-national' BJP-PDP coalition government.
The NPSU demanded dismissal of J&K government in the interest of security of the State. NPSU appealed all the students and youth to take to the streets against the Government for its anti-national decision release of terrorist from jail to implement PDP agenda.
NPSU also sought to revoke the decision of the BJP-PDP coalition to release separatist leader Masrat Alam.
Several NPSU activists led by Thakur Virender Singh staged a massive protest demonstration in the University premises raising slogan against the BJP for surrendering weekly before its alliance partner for the lust of power. NPSU called upon the students to observe complete bandh besides mass boycott of the classes which evoked a positive response from the varsity students and the scholars.
Virender Singh said that the saffron party which vehemently harped on its 'jingoistic rhetoric' only succeeded to befool and hoodwink the people ahead of Assembly elections. The electorates of Jammu Pradesh subsequently elected its MLAs from the region pinning high hopes from them for a political charge as promised by the BJP in its vision document.
NPSU President lambasted the BJP for its double standards as onn one hand it is supporting the anti-national decision of the PDP-BJP government and on the other protesting against it.
The workers of Dogra Front (DF) and Shiv Sena (SS) under the leadership of president Ashok Gupta took out a protest against the release of Hurriyat hardliner Masrat Alam. The workers of DF and SS were carrying a chair with the BJP printed on it and after the raising of slogans the chair was burned expressing that BJP should draw curtains on the coalition and should take a firm stand against the anti-India decisions.
The effigies of Masrat Alam were burned and then it was also hanged expressing the sentiments of the people of the state who has been responsible for 110 deaths.
Gupta while addressing the protesters said Masrat Alam spearheaded the 2010 unrest by making highly inflammatory speeches and issuing programmes for protests which paralyzed normal life in Kashmir for over six months. The National Conference-led government had set a Rs 10,00,000 award for Alam's arrest. He said the 2010 unrest had died down immediately after Alam was arrested.
Gupta further said the great leader of the country Shyama Prasad Mukhrjee who sacrificed his life for Ek Samvidhan, Ek Nishaan is been put to waste as BJP is in the government and such anti-India remarks are nothing less than a blot.
Condemning the pro Pakistan remarks of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and release of Masrat Alam , Jammu University unit of ABVP today held a strong protest in Jammu University today.
A large number of Jammu University students led by ABVP Jammu University president Sandeep Sharma gathered and raised slogans.
Addressing the students, Sandeep Sharma cautioned the state government to restrain from taking anti-national decisions and warned that in case such anti national decisions continue to be taken by the government , the protest will be intensified .
An effigy of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Masrat Aslam was also burnt by the students amid slogans.
Activities of National Panthers Party staged protest demonstration against the release of top separatist leader Masarat Alam under the aegis of ex-MLA Yash Paul Kundal and provincial president Rajesh Padgotra.
Yash Paul Kundal asked whether the release of dreaded terrorists is a part of Common Minimum Programme (CMP) or not? He also asserted that while releasing operation such terrorists will invite miseries and afflictions for the public.
Young Bar Association (YBA) Kathua also lodged a strong protest over the release of hardliner separatist leader Masarat Alam.
Demanding Alam's re-arrest, the protesters burn the effigy of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Deputy CM Nirmal Singh.
Advocate Azad also asked Sayeed to consider re-arrest of Alam in view of the statements made by him soon after his release in Kashmir.
Association strongly opposes and rejects the decision to release Masarat Alam and believes that the conduct of Alam, after his release and the statements made by him and situation existing now, are fresh inputs to consider his fresh detention under PSA immediately in the interest of the security of the state.
Reacting strongly to the release of separatist leader and Head of the Muslim League in the State, Masarat Alam, the Kranti Dal (KD) said the decision Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led State Coalition Government was anti-national, unacceptable and against the Constitution of India.
Led by Chairman Anan Sharma, KD activists today held a strong protest against the government's decision.
Strict action should be taken against Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as he has repeatedly indulged in anti-India activities, Kranti Dal State President Pritam Sharma said.
Pritam said Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, while taking oath of Chief Minister of the State, violated the norms of Constitution of India by giving credit to Hurriyat, militants and people from across the borders for peaceful conduct of Assembly elections in the State.
Instead of thanking security forces and Election Commission, he credited Pakistan and Hurriyat, which is a shame, he said.
Raj Kumar Dogra renowned meditation and spiritual music therapy guru, condemned the release of Masrat Alam's release.
Dogra said that Alam was the master mind of 2010 unrest and he was responsible in stone pelting in Kashmir in which 120 people lost their lives. The release of such a person is a threat to national unity and security. Dogra while questioning the decision of BJP-PDP state government to release leader instrumental in triggering 2010 stone pelting agitation, asked Prime Minister Narendera Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and the RSS to clarify their stand. The stand of PDP is very much clear by the release of separatist leader cum militant and now it's the time for BJP to break alliance with PDP and respect the mandate of Jammu people, he added.
