Jammu, Mar 9: Contrary to the claims of Power Development Department (PDD) that was ensuring power supply and failed to restore power supply in the Satwari area after an electric transformer got damaged for last a day, alleged residents of the area.
As per reports, the people remained without power for the whole night and the day today.
Residents also assembled and shouted against the PPD and alleged that their life has become miserable in the absence of power supply.
According to the resident of the area, Naresh Kumar, Govind Raj, Pandit Deepti Sharma, Pritam Sharma and others said that the electric transformer was not working last one day and the matter was taken up with the concerned Xen of the area, but nothing has been done till date. "Xen has claimed that there was no transformer available and it will take one to two days for replacement of the transformers," they claimed.
They stated that due to non-availability of power, they are facing lots of problems. PDD has hiked the rates of electricity time to time, but the department has failed to check its maintenance and provide regular power supply to the consumers.
They demanded immediately the transformer should be changed otherwise the resident of the area will come on street and protest against the PDD. |
