Karvan-e-Aman bus resumes after one week
3/10/2015 12:33:07 AM
Srinagar, Mar 9 : The weekly Karvan-e-Aman cross Line of Control (LoC) bus service resumed today after remaining suspended last week due to landslides and snow on other side of the border. The bus service, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad every Monday could not operate on last Monday because of landslides and snowfall on other sides of the border. Official sources said the bus left Srinagar for Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoCin Uri sector. They said similarly a bus has left Muzaffarabad, capital of PoK this morning for Chakoti on other side of the LoC .However, exact number of those traveling from both sides will be known only in the afternoon when they cross the LoC. The bus service was introduced on April 7,2005, when India and Pakistan governments decided to allow families divided in 1947 to avail the facility to meet each other. Thousands of divided families meet each other during this period.
