Early Times Report

Srinagar, Mar 9 : Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Monday got support from an unexpected quarter over his decision to release hardline separatist leader Masrat Alam. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Monday got support from an unexpected quarter over his decision to release hardline separatist leader Masrat Alam.
Former chief minister and National Conference (NC) working president, Omar Abdullah, who has been criticising and opposing all of Mufti's decision unequivocally said that a chief minister has to be trusted to decide what is and isn't in the interest of his state.
"God knows, I hold no brief for Mufti Sayeed but a CM has to be trusted to decide what is and isn't in the interest of his/her state (sic)," Omar tweeted. "And if you can't trust a CM to decide what is right then it's better to dispense with state governments and govern from Delhi directly." However, he criticised Mufti for changing the discourse about his alliance with the BJP.
"Mufti wants the discourse to be about anything but his alliance with BJP, his hugs with NaMo and the hollow Common Minimum Programme and so far his script is working," he said in another tweet.
"Fake tiffs between PDP and BJP nothing but drama. These are fixed-matches between them to divert attention from flood rehab and a hollow CMP," he said. Omar also questioned Mufti's move to facilitate the entry of VHP president Praveen Togadia to Jammu and Kashmir. "Allowing Praveen Togadia into J&K to disturb communal harmony is the latest trick by PDP-BJP alliance to divert attention from hollow CMP," said the former chief minister.
