Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 4: Sandeep Manhas, general secretary of NCP along-with NCP leader RS Billowaria demanded a judicial probe against the former deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand who twice laid down the foundation stone of the bridge in less than seven years.
According to press release, "then government had failed to construct a bridge over river Chenab which could have connected Tehsil headquarter Khour where all offices including office of SDM and tehsildar are located, "they alleged.
Manhas said to reach Khour the people have to cover a distance of over 50 km from Pargwal while it is hardly a distance of 7 to 8 km .The delegation said the people of Pargwal area on the one side are facing continous attacks from Pakistan army and on the other side the mighty river Chenab washing away thousands acres of fertile land in the entire area every year on the international border. The successive state govts have miserably failed to save the brave people of the entire Pargwal area.
While, R S Billowaria demanded from the new govt to unearth the biggest scam over the Chenab Bridge at Pargwal.
While addressing the delegation NCP chief said that in 1970 he crossed this river on boat as a Minister Transport, Relief and rehabilitation and then demanded this bridge which was the lifeline for the people of Pargwal area and I am shocked to know that after 45 years so many govts have changed nobody has bothered even the area was represented by not less than the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and speaker Legislative Assembly.
