Ignoring Muslim leadership, BJP likely to nominate Ajat Shatru

Early Times Report
Jammau, Apr 4: Ignoring the considerable rise in the vote share in the Muslim dominated constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir especially Jammu province during the recently concluded Legislative Assembly Polls, State BJP President Jugal Kishore Sharma is likely to nominate Ajat Shatru Singh as the fourth candidate to the upper house of the legislatures solely to secure a legislative assembly seat for his brother Nand Kishore Sharma.
As per party insiders, the nomination of Ajat Shatru Singh as the fourth MLC along with former MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria, Party Vice President Ramesh Arora and Surinder Ambardar has been planned by none other than Jugal Kishore Sharma to secure Nagrota assembly seat for the next due elections in six years in the state for his brother Nand Kishore Sharma who lost to Davender Singh Rana of National Conference in the LA elections.
With this, party insiders told Early Times that there is a deep resentment brewing in the party's Muslim cadre unrepresented including Farooq Khan, Talib Choudhary, Tariq Keen, Shoukat Daing and Syed Ahmed Shah, as all of them strived hard to ensure the blooming of lotus in those Muslim majority areas where BJP was once considered as a Pro-Hindu and Anti-Muslim party.
"Party's candidate for Inderwal constituency, for example, bagged more than 3000 votes in 1996 whereas Choudhary Salam-ud-Din of BJP got 3500 votes in 2002, Shakti Parihar got 10,500 votes in 2008, Dr. Jitendra Singh got 11,000 votes in MP elections of 2014 but it was Tariq Keen who bagged 18,000 votes from the same constituency which was a major success to the party from the Muslim majority Inderwal constituency but the same was ignored by the BJP when it comes the representation of Muslim dominated areas along with Rajouri, Poonch, Bhaderwah and Inderwal constituencies. The same has led to a deep resentment in the Muslim faces of the party", told a party insider.
He said this mess is being created by the Party's President Jugal Kishore Sharma who had earlier brought huge setback to party in Jammu by fielding his favourites ignoring the deserved ones which was obvious from the defeat received from Nagrota constituency where his brother Nand Kishore Sharma was fielded despite huge resentment against the contestant and Pawan Sharma from Udhampur constituency who was given party mandate against the potential candidate Pawan Kumar Gupta who later won as an independent candidate. Similarly the mandate to Ashwani Kumar Sharma from Bishnah assembly segment also proved a mistake of Jugal Kishore Sharma as the wind was not in favour of two time independent MLA Ashwani Kumar Sharma.
"Not learning from the previous mistake wherein his decisions were highly criticized within the party, Jugal once again on the same path who is hell went upon to nominate Ajat Shatru Singh with a planned self politics to make clear way for his brother".
