| Seminar on education organized | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Apr 4: A national seminar on 'Quality Teacher Education in Modern Era' was organised in Vivekananda College of Education, Lakhanpur, Kathua.
The whole function was divided in three sessions. The first session was inaugural session. The Chief Guest of this session was Prof. RD Sharma Vice Chancellor University of Jammu whereas Prof. S.K. Murgai , Director General was the special dignitary to present the keynote address . The other dignitaries who graced the occasion were JK Sharma special secretary to Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, Dr. SM Gupta, former Prof. and Dean, Kurukshetra University, Prof. KB Sethi, Chairman of the College Dr. S.K. Gupta & Dr. Anju Sharma, Principal of the College.
Programme started with lightening of lamp by the chief guest escorted by other eminent dignitaries. In his welcome address Dr. S.K. Gupta said that it was a great matter of honour for the college to have such reputed academicians and educationists. Organising the seminar is a part of the mission which aims to bring various educationists working in the field of education or associated with education on a platform, sit together, discuss and come out with various suggestions, ideas and innovations. chief guest in his address highlighted the topic of the seminar. He said that 'now - a- days a teacher is in the urgent need of certain skills and competencies to deliver and he is also in need of a new type of knowledge for development in knowledge and attitude, atmosphere and facility so that he may be in a position to make the task easy, fruitful and confirming the demands of the students. |
