Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 12: The Jammu and Kashmir government today rejected the remarks made by independent MLA Engineer Rashid who had called for an apology from the Kashmiri Pandit community for "leaving Kashmir". "I don't agree with that (Rashid's statement), we don't agree with that, they (Kashmiri Pandits) have no reason to apologise, they had to leave in a very unfortunate circumstances which we hope will never visit Kashmir again," Minister for Education Naeem Akthar said when asked to comment on the remarks of Engineer Rashid. Known for making controversial statements Engineer Rashid had yesterday demanded an "unconditional apology" from the Kashmiri Pandit community for "leaving" the Kashmir Valley.
Various Kashmiri Pandit organisations have strongly condemned the statement of Engineer Rashid. His comments have also invited fury of the social media users. "The statement was condemnable and instead these leaders must apologise from the Pandit community for their irresponsible utterances," the All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) Chairman Vinod Pandit said.
