Jammu, Apr 12: In brazen violation of reservation rules, which provide 20 percent reservation to RBA category, only 10 percent seats have been reserved for the category in the recently published employment notification for the posts of Naib-Tehsildars.
According to notification 1 of 2015, dated 7/4/2015, issued by Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board for 134 posts of Naib-Tehsildars for Jammu and Kashmir, only 13 posts have been reserved for RBA candidates.
"According to constitution, 20 percent seats must be reserved for RBA candidates, which accounts for 27 but JKSSRB has cut short the reservation by 14 seats", one of the aspirant said. "We don't know, which department has violated the rules, but rules are violated, and it will we shall raise over voice", he said.
He further said that the Revenue department has made mockery of the norms of RBA status by sanctioning 10 percent seats. "It is total injustice with aspirants from RBA category", he said.
JK RBA Forum President, Zakir Malik Bhalesi said that that notification has violated the norms of RBA and has n deprived the aspirants of their right, which the constitution of JK guaranteed, adding, "If the JKSSB fails to issue a corrigendum or republish the notification, we will challenge the notification in the court", he said.
When contacted, Secretary of JKSSB, Khurshid Ahmed Shah said that the bifurcation of posts was done by Revenue Department and not by SSRB. "We have only authority to conduct recruitment as per the seats given by department", he said.
In reply to another query, he said that he had not received any representation from any organization nor an individual, adding, "If someone approaches us, we will forward the matter to the Revenue department for correction", he said.
Despite repeated calls to Secretary Revenue Department, Mohammad Afzal, he didn't pick up his phone.
