2 killed, 26 injured in road accident in Ramban | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 12: Two persons were killed and twenty six other sustained injuries when a speedy truck hit an overloaded matador on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Money Morh Battery Cheshma some seven kilometers from Ramban. Police immediately swung into action and arrested the driver of the truck after he flee few kilometers from the spot. Police has also registered a case in this connection in police station Ramban and starts its investigation. As per the details available with "Early Times", the fatal accident took place after an over speedy truck bearing registration No. JK02AE-6059 hit an overloaded matador bearing registration No. JK14- 0521 which was on its way to Ramban from Ukrhall. As per the eyewitnesses, the impact of the hitting was so strong that the ill fated vehicle rolle down into a deep gorge resulted into the on spot death of one person namely Abdul Rehman Bali son of Lassu Bali resident of Poogal while another injured person succumbed to his injuries at helipad while he was being airlifted to Medical College Jammu along with six other seriously injured persons. The remaining 21 injured persons including four children and two women are presently under treatment in trauma hospital Ramban where the condition of all the injured person is said to be stable. Police, civil administration and Red cross volunteers rescued the injured passengers trapped in ill fated Matador. |
