Mufti woos Bollywood for peace in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 30: Mufti Sayeed is trying to bring Bollywood back to the Kashmir for political and economic reasons. The CM had a meeting with the actor Shahrukh Khan. The meeting comes in the backdrop of the Salman Khan already shooting in the Kashmir and has decided to adopt one village. The CM, who has seen and is witness to the booming times of the Kashmir as the prime destination of the Indian film industry is trying to revive it. Kashmir already had a special longing for the Indian films to the point of being fetish. The important point is that all superstars of the Indian film industry are Muslim-Shahrukh, Salman and Amir Khan, and the legendry Dilip Kumar. Mufti a seasoned but a canny politician believes and knows that a religious angle could help in sending positives signals back to Kashmir and even separatists would find it hard to oppose the filming of the Indian films here. "The separatists have out-and-clear Muslim state agenda. And also are openly against India. But they will have to answer a lot of questions if any of these leading superstars, read Muslims- come to the valley and shoot and also help the locals," says a senior official, privy to the development. Mufti Sayeed has for this reason deliberately called on the Shahrukh Khan and believes that once these stars start coming rest will follow and this could have a spiral effect. "Indian films not only present the composite culture and diversity of the India but also projects a face where Muslims can not only accelerate but even establish supremacy which is not an easy thing in other fields. And, this connection works for the Mufti Sayeed and its coalition partner BJP also can't oppose it as it also wants peace in the state by all means," said the official. |
