Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 30: In a significant development in the Seora multi crore land deal case then SHO Vijaypur Ajay Singh, who had allegedly sealed the deal, has filed a writ petition against Commissioner/Secretary Home Department, Director General of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu –Kathua range and Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir at Jammu claiming that he has got nothing to do with the deal and he has been dragged into the controversy .
The writ petition was filed by the officer after he was placed under suspension. Court admitted the writ petition of the police officer and stayed his suspension order No.224 of 2015 dated 23.4.2015, and sought objections from the senior officers of the police department. The case has been listed for next hearing on May 18, 2015.
Earlier, Judicial Magistrate (Munsif),Samba had directed SSP Samba to hold inquiry into the matter following which police lodged a FIR against Vinod Rishi.
The court directed the SSP to investigate the matter after the SI Ajay Singh, then SHO Vijaypur, approached court and prayed that he has no concern with the multi crore deal which Rishi is alleging was sealed by him.
Meanwhile, some senior police officers when contacted said that then SHO Vijaypur was placed under suspension after an inquiry was ordered into the alleged scam. The inquiry was initiated on court direction, they maintained.
Pertinently, Early times in its edition 16.4.2015 had reported that the police officer, who was heading the police station Vijaypur allegedly issued a receipt to the buyer of the plot and put the police station seal and his signatures on it.
As per the receipt, alleged to have been written by SI Ajay Singh, who was then SHO of Vijaypur police station, in his own handwriting on June 20, 2014, an amount of Rs 90 lakh was received by property dealer Surjeet Singh, son of Harminder Singh of Sehora, in the police officer’s presence from Vinod Rishi, a reputed industrialist.
The receipt says that “an amount of Rs 90 lakh is received as advance from Rishi against the cost of 10 kanals of land at Sehora near a Dental College. It also says that the buyer would be paid Rs 1.80 crore in case if the deal fails. It has been allegedly signed by Surjeet and SI Ajay. However, the deal could not mature due to the legal flaw in the fard inthikab.
