We don’t want Jagti-like settlement for KPs: Omar | NC to move SC if new recruitment policy is implemented | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report
Anantnag, Apr 30: National Conference president and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that his party would move Supreme Court if the state government implemented new job recruitment policy. “This is the same recruitment policy which we revoked after PDP opposed it in the legislative assembly, but now they want to implement it. Governor has already stopped the ordinance on our objections and we will knock every door be it of High Court or Supreme Court to safeguard the future of our youth,” Omar told reporters in Khanabal here. Blaming the recruitment policy for defeat of his party in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Omar said, “Youth distanced themselves from our party because of the same recruitment policy and as a result of which we lost all the three Lok Sabha seats in Kashmir division.” On the return of migrant Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley, Omar said his party would continue to oppose Jagti Township-like settlements. “We want the Pandits to return, and for their honourable return my government took many initiatives and succeeded to some extent. However we never wanted Jagti township-like settlement or rehabilitation of the Pandits,” said Omar, adding that his party wants that Pandits should return to their native places. Referring to re-detention of Hurriyat Conference leader Masarat Alam, the former CM alleged that major decisions were being at taken at RSS headquarters in Nagpur. “Now the capital of Jammu and Kashmir isn't at Srinagar or Jammu but it is at Nagpur, as the major decisions are being taken there,” he said.
