Rajendra stresses for high standard professional trainings

Udhampur, Apr 30: 15th meeting of Police Academic Council was held at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur (SKPA) today. Chaired by Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, the prestigious meeting took several decisions to enhance standards of police trainings institutions in the State.
At the outset, the meeting discussed action taken report on the decisions made in the previous meetings held in 2014. Progress achieved on these points was tabled in the meeting by Director SKPA, Rajesh Kumar.
While discussing the administrative matters of SKPA and other police trainings institutions, the DGP said that various innovative measures have been taken to enhance the standards of police training institutions in the State. He said that the efforts are bringing good results and our officers and jawans are competent to deliver at any front of policing. New areas of trainings are being focussed to meet the modern challenges in the field of investigation and law and order maintenance.
Rajendra said that besides professional policing, Jammu and Kashmir Police has been playing an important role in disaster management. Present situation demands that our personnel should be capable to deal with emergent situations, like calamities. He said that new courses have been introduced in all police training institutions to acquaint the trainees with latest techniques of rescue management, besides training modules to make them competent in the field.
The meeting took various decisions to enhance facilities for training staff and the trainees. It was decided that cash rewards would be given to the trainees, who excel best during their trainings. Expansion in existing infrastructure was also decided in the meeting to make SKPA one of the best Police Academy in the country. Other decisions to up-grade the infrastructure and the facilities were also taken, which include better living facilities in the training campus, mobility, indoor trainings, medical and sports facilities. New syllabus and duration of courses for different trainings were also decided in the meeting to get better dividends.
During the day long deliberations, council members gave valuable suggestions to improve the standards of training institutions, the DGP welcoming the suggestions, put forth by the members, said that all these suggestions would be considered while making the decisions. He said that collective efforts of council members would be appreciated to bring visible changes in the working of training institutions in the State.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADsGP, SP Vaid and Dilbag Singh, IsGP, Dr. B Srinivas, HK Lohia, AG Mir, MS Salaria, Yoginder Koul, MA Khan, Mukesh Singh, Danish Rana, SL Sharma, Jagjit Kumar, SA Watali and JP Singh, DIsGP, SK Gupta, SA Mujtaba, Parminder Singh and SA Beig, Principals of Training Institutions, AIG (P) Tahir Sajjad, SP Trainings (PHQ), Bashir Ahmed and other police officers.
