| Workshop on consumer rights awareness held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 30 : A workshop on Consumer Rights Awareness was conducted at MHAC School, Nagbani in collaboration with the Consumer's Welfare Association, Jammu. GS Chib, Director CAPD was the chief guest on the occasion.
On the occasion, Alok Betab, Principal, MHAC School, Nagbani presided over the function.
The workshop was an eye opener for the Class XI & XII students and staff of the school, who listened with apt attention to all the provisions of Consumer protection act as presented by various speakers. Manoj Prabhakar elaborated upon the legal provisions for the protection of consumers and the standardization of weights and measures.
GS Chib and Vikram Gour made the students aware of their duties and consumer rights.
Chib gave information regarding their concerned departments and how the consumers can seek redressal against unfair trade practices & exploitations. He also spoke about the legal action that can be taken if the consumer has been cheated by a trader or a service provider. Before the expert speakers, there were the student speakers from the school who expressed their ideas regarding the rights of the consumer and the problems faced by the common man.
The student speakers Apoorva, Akash Sharma and Vasundhara were awarded mementoes by the chief guest. From the school side, the Principal Mr. Alok Betab presented the VIP Guests with mementoes.
Earlier, the guests were taken around the school where a flower show competition was going on. All the dignitaries were all praise for the creativity and aesthetic sense of the students. It was a power packed day at MHAC School, Nagbani.
