JAMMU, Apr 30 : Mohinder clinched men's singles title after he defeated Ashish in straight sets of 21-15, 21-18 in the final of the badminton championship held to commemorate 10th foundation day year of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) in Katra.
The men's doubles title went to the pair of Anuj and Deepak, who trounced the duo of Sajjal and Swapnil in straight sets of 21-16, 21-17.
Earlier, around 125 students, representing various houses of Nilgiri, Vidyanchal, Kailash, Basoli and Trikuta, contested for the top honours.
Director Sports of SMVDSB, Ashok Kumar presided over the function while president of Board of Sports, Dr Ajay Sharma was guest of honour. Also present were coaches, Captain Sucha Singh and Ashok Kumar. |
