Jammu, Apr 30 : World Veterinary Day was organized at the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, R. S. Pura, Shere-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology, Jammu (SKUAST Jammu), Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu. Prof. Pradeep K. Sharma was the Chief Guest on thisoccasion. All the faculty members and students of the F.V.Sc &A.H participated in celebrating World Veterinary Day. Dr. J.S. Soodan, Professor & Head, Division of Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex appraised the audience about the importance of this day. Dr. Sanjay Kotwal, Professor, Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology, presented the lecture about the theme "Vector Borne Zoonotic Diseases" highlighting the significance of vector borne Zoonotic diseases under climatic change conditions and emphasized on creation of awareness of masses about its threat. Dean, Veterinary Sciences, Prof. M. M. S. Zama, congratulated the veterinarian community on this day. He said that veterinarians not only treat speechless creations on earth but are key actors of the 'One Health Concept' at the animal-human-environmental interface. Director Education, Prof. T.A.S. Ganai, SKUAST Jammu, discussed the duties and role of veterinarians towards the animals in particular and society in general. |
