Work expeditiously to provide better roads for public convenience : Kohli | | |  RAJOURI, Apr 30 : Endeavouring the government policy of inclusive development of all the region's of the state with extra focus on far flung and remote areas of the state, Minister for Transport, Abdul Ghani kohli today visited Rajouri town and its adjoining areas including Khwas, Budhal, Bakori etc to interact with locals and hold a public meeting also. While addressing the gathering the Minister said that the foremost priority of the government is to enhance quality of life in village so that it is on a par with urban areas besides providing skill development centres for youth so as to enable the youth to set up self employment units. During the meeting, the locals apprised the Minister with their problems and sought their redressal included better road connectivity from Bakori to khwas and Budhal to khwas. The people also raised the demands for water tankers to meet the drinking water needs and regular supply of electricity. They also demanded adequate teaching staff and infrastructure in school as well as sufficient health care facilities at Khwas. Considering the problem of drinking water, the Minister said that the projects for water harvesting , ground water recharge etc are needed to be pursued to give a permanent solution to this problem. Referring to the demand of better road connectivity, the Minister said that providing better road connectivity to hitherto uncovered areas has been on my priority. He directed the concerned authorities to work expeditiously to provide better roads for public convenience. The Minister said that providing basic amenities including adequate drinking water, electricity, education, better health care, ration and other facilities is among prime job and responsibility of government and every possible effort is being put in by the government in this regard. |
