Cop held for drug trafficking, Charas; banned drugs recovered | | | Rajouri, Apr 30: Continuing its drive against the drug peddlers, bovine smugglers, anti social and anti-national elements, Rajouri Police, today arrested a police constable allegedly involved in drug trafficking and recovered a consignment of charas and prescription drugs. According to police sources, Constable, presently post at District Police Lines at Poonch involved in drug trafficking network was arrested by the Rajouri police here today during a naka checking. "Identified as Mehboob Qadir s/o Ghulam Qadir resident of Thanamang under Darhal Police Station in Rajouri district have been booked in case FIR No 44/15 under sections 8/20/21/22 NDPS Act at Darhal Police Station, police sources said.They said the constable had come to home on leave and after specific inputs sub inspector Mohd Sharief, SHO, Darhal had laid a special 'naka' to apprehend the police constable along with the consignment."At about 9.00am on Wednesday police intercepted the accused and during frisking on spot police found the consignment of drug in his possession, sources added. "Police have recovered 20 gms of Charas (Cannabis), 12 bottles of Psychotropic substance with trade name Corex and 88 intoxicant capsules with trade name Parron Spas from the possession of the constable," sources added. Here it needs to mention that Rajouri police under the supervision of AK Attri, DIG Rajouri-Poonch police range and Dr Haseeb Mughal , SSP, have launched a drive against the drug peddlers, bovine smugglers, anti social and anti-national elements and during current year have booked eight drug peddlers in seven cases of drug trafficking. |
