Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 30: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) chairman Harshdev Singh today castigates Bhartiya Janta Party for its failure to get AIIMS for Jammu.
According to press release, intensifying its campaign for restoration of AIIMS to Jammu, JKNPP today organized a public rally followed by a strong demonstration in R S Pura today.
Addressing the gathering, Harshdev Singh said that the people of Jammu region who had pinned high hopes in the BJP and gave it an overwhelming mandate were feeling cheated and betrayed after the publication of 'Agenda of alliance'.
He said that the so called Common Minimum Programme of the coalition govt. which was expected to ensure empowerment of Jammu region by incorporating the long pending demands of different sections of the region proved to be a damp squib causing greatest disappointment amongst the common masses.
Flaying in particular the despicable transfer of AIIMS to Kashmir despite it having been announced for Jammu, Harsh Dev Singh said that the BJP had deeply hurt the sentiments of the Jammu people by meekly surrendering to the dictates of their coalition partner. Ridiculing the recent meetings of a Group of State Ministers with Union Ministers and holding photo sessions with them as appearing in the media apparently conveying it as a delegation for AIIMS, Harsh Dev Singh described the same as politics of candyfloss, devoid of any merit.
He said that BJP leaders were indulging in damage control after having willfully and deliberately surrendered the Premier Health Institute to Kashmir. He said that the Panthers Party would take the issue of AIIMS restoration to every nook and corner of the Jammu region.
Yash Paul Kundal State President, Young Panthers lambasted the coalition govt. for its failure to address the day to day problems of the people relating to unscheduled power cuts, potable drinking water problems and poor drainage facilities in R S Pura. He sought upgradation of R S Pura Municipal committee besides repairs and upgradation of dilapidated lanes and drains of the town. He called for immediate payment of adequate compensation to the farmers of R S Pura and Suchetgarh whose crops had been damaged by the recent rains and floods. Others who spoke on the occasion included Sh. Sham Ghorka, Advocate Kesar Parveen, Sh. Ashok Randhewa, Gagan Partap Singh, Rajesh Padgotra, Miss Asha Rani, Miss Anamika Choudhary etc.
