Early Times Report

Jammu, May 22: An emergent meeting of exiled KP community held today at Jagti Migrant Camp under the leadership of Pintoo Ji and discussed return and rehabilitation issue and rejected any module of return which will hurt the sentiments of community. A youth leader Pintoo Ji from Jagti Camp, Jammu today questioned that how can a few bunch of people who even remotely do not represent the displaced community at all or carry any mandate of the majority of the displaced community to represent them in any meeting with the government or any other agency, can deliberate or decide about their future. Youth leader of exiled community, Pintoo jee cautioned those participants in the meeting scheduled on May 24, since return is a very delicate and contentious issue at this juncture that involves the fool proof safety, security and economic survival of the displaced people, how can they discuss and deliberate upon without taking the majority of displaced people into confidence. He warned the participants that their decision would in no way be binding on the majority displaced community- may be on their own families and relatives only. "Kashmiri Hindus will return to their land of birth only when they feel that the situation is conducive for their return and rehabilitation and not on the whims and wishes of some defeatist elements in the community, he said. He further appealed all the KPs organization not to approach the Govt individually without taking the community sentiments into confidence and put forth the unanimous resolution on rehabilitation. He further said that we should not forget the past history of tyranny appeasement from time to time and frame a firm road map for the future decision. Among others who spoke in this meeting were Roshan Lal Raina, Vir Ji Belove, Desh Rattan, O N Kaw, Poshkar Nath, Rajinder Kashmiri and others.
